RESTAURANT-TERRACE WITH FRAMEWORKX XT2

FRAMEWORKX-PROJECT OF THE RHEIN

GREAT VIEW OF THE RHEINLOUNGE

The Rheinlounge in Wiesbaden offers top-class gastronomy. Not only delicious food and drinks contribute to this. In addition, the Rheinlounge offers a very special ambience. The restaurant is located directly at the Schiersteiner Hafen and thus on the banks of the Rhine. That makes for a very cozy atmosphere. The visitors not only enjoy an appealing view of the Rhine, but also of the numerous boats that are in the harbor. This creates a special atmosphere, so that the guests feel completely at home here. Due to this outstanding combination of culinary delights and an outstanding location at the harbor, the Rheinlounge has already developed into one of the most important gastronomic hotspots in Wiesbaden since it opened in 2019.

FALL PROTECTION FOR THE TERRACE: A SPECIAL CHALLENGE

The terrace right on the water is particularly popular with guests of the Rheinlounge. However, their implementation posed a certain challenge. On the one hand, reliable fall protection was necessary to avoid endangering the guests. On the other hand, this should not impair the view of the Rhine and the boats in the harbor. In addition, the location directly on the water also places special demands on the material. This must be extremely moisture-resistant. For these reasons, the architects of the Rheinlounge opted for X-TEND with the frame system FRAMEWORKX XT2 from Carl Stahl for the railing infill. This high-quality stainless steel cable mesh optimally meets all of the above requirements.

TECHNICAL DETAILS FOR IMPLEMENTATION

Stainless steel is an extremely rust-resistant material and is therefore ideally suited for use near water. In addition, this material is very robust. Therefore, with a rope diameter of only 1.5 mm and a mesh size of 40 mm, it is possible to ensure reliable fall protection. This filigree structure in turn means that the railing infill practically does not impair the view. Therefore, the visitors enjoy an excellent view. A total of 74 m² of the X-TEND stainless steel cable mesh in FRAMEWORKX frames from Carl Stahl was used to complete the railing in the Rhine Lounge.
